Silver For Crackley's U11 Netball Squad At ISA Midlands Tournament

Crackley Hall's U11 Netball squad put in an outstanding performance to finish in second place and earn themselves Silver medals, and a place at the National Championships, at this year's Regional ISA Netball tournament.
The U11 Netball team travelled to Ashley Manor Prep School in Cheltenham to play in the ISA Midlands Netball Tournament on Thursday 13 February. It was a big event with teams from across the Midlands region taking part.
The teams were split initially into pools and Crackley’s squad played well, working together slickly as a team. They won all their pool matches, 9-1 vs Ruckleigh, 10-1 vs Old Vicarage and 8-1 vs Tettenhall and finished top of their Group to qualify for the playoffs.
In the knockout rounds, Crackley first faced the hosts Ashley Manor Prep. They were tougher opposition and the girls took a little time to get into their stride. However, they stayed strong and secured a 4-1 win. In the semi-final, they faced Wycliffe and with a medal on the line, the girls really upped their game and played some lovely, flowing netball, coming away as 5-0 victors.
In the final they played Twycross School. They were by far the toughest challenge the girls faced on the day, and they went 1-0 down quite quickly. They fought back well and drew the score level at 1-1. Twycross started to find their flow and scored two goals in quick succession, taking them 3-1 in the lead. It was end to end as our girls fought back, taking charge in the last few minutes to bring the score back to 3-3. The final whistle blew at 3-3, meaning that the match went to golden goal. Twycross won the centre pass, putting them at an advantage. However, our girls immediately turned the ball over with a fantastic interception by Eleanor. The game continued to go from end to end, with neither team managing to score (nerves playing a big part for both teams). After four minutes of play, Twycross finally came out the victors in a highly contested game.
We are proud of the girls – their work ethic, determination and desire to learn and improve was second to none. We wish them well when they compete in the Nationals on Thursday 13 March
