Crackley Hall Awarded A Silver Certificate By Kenilworth In Bloom

Judges from the annual gardening competition visited the school back in July to inspect the green-fingered pupils' gardening efforts and on Friday 29 September the school attended a presentation evening at Kenilworth Sports and Social Club to receive their award.

Crackley Hall was pleased to take part in the school’s category of this year’s competition with children from across the school working on gardening projects. The four judges who visited the school were impressed by the Nursery garden, with its beetroot, carrots and variety of herbs, Junior 4's sunflower garden as well as Junior 2's vegetable gardens and of course the planting work that has taken place in Forest School.

The judges were also impressed by pupils’ knowledge and enthusiasm and the care that they showed for the environment and how the gardens at the school made provision for wildlife.

Along with Mrs Burley, the Head Boy and Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl and the Year 6 School Councillors all attended the presentation. Head Boy, Blythe, and Head Girl, Evie, spoke to the assembled audience to thank Kenilworth in Bloom for the award.

Mrs Burley was very proud, commenting, “The children were fabulous and incredible ambassadors for Crackley. A huge thank you to the parents for joining us too, it was a lovely evening. We won Silver, so second prize. It was the first time we have entered so we were thrilled and will be putting plans in place for how we can win Gold. We would like to extend our thanks to the volunteers at Kenilworth in Bloom for making us feel so welcome, we are looking forward to lots more collaborative projects together.”
